Th candidate_votes
dataset in a long format allows analysis of candidate votes in each electorate
by successful registered parties. Useful for exploring voting patterns and party performance in
individual electorates over time. For usage examples, see

Format
A data frame with 5,349 rows and 6 variables:
- Election
Year of election (1996--2023).
- Ballot
Type of ballot (Candidate).
- Electorate
Name of electorate (e.g., Auckland Central).
- Party
Name of successful registered party (e.g., ACT Party).
- Votes
Total valid candidate votes for the party (0--49,510).
- Percentage
Percentage of total valid candidate votes for the party (0.00--78.06).
