Th candidate_votes dataset in a long format allows analysis of candidate votes in each electorate by successful registered parties. Format

A data frame with 5,349 rows and 6 variables:

Election

Year of election (1996--2023).

Ballot

Type of ballot (Candidate).

Electorate

Name of electorate (e.g., Auckland Central).

Party

Name of successful registered party (e.g., ACT Party).

Votes

Total valid candidate votes for the party (0--49,510).

Percentage

Percentage of total valid candidate votes for the party (0.00--78.06).
